Even though every month or fortnight, new “tiny-fashion trends” (this is how we could define the recent trends that appear and last for short periods), the Holy Bible of fashion only preaches the trends and styles that mark the fashion shows of the most influential designers in the world.
Thus, “Fashion Week” (although there are also many other essential fashion shows) is responsible for showing what clothes and colors will be worn each season.
Year after year, thousands of people who love fashion are aware of the new trends presented in this type of event on hundreds of catwalks worldwide.
This 2023 welcomes us with new trends (such as the Greek style and fringes) that merge with the classic aesthetics of the 2000s that are still preserved.
However, in this article, we want to focus on one type of garment; women pants. Therefore, we will see what styles, models, fabrics, and colors. This 2023 has in store for us to dress our legs.
Let us look at the trends in women’s pants that will accompany us this season. Will we continue to wear those wide pants fitted at the waist?
Well, read on to find out everything you need to know to be in fashion this 2023. One thing is for sure. This season brings us many timeless styles with modern modifications and touches that will live through several seasons.
Here are 6 trendsetters for pants in 2023.
Table of Contents
1. Wide Pants
Yes, wide pants are still present in our lives. This garment has already been with us for several seasons, and plans to stay longer.
This year the most critical catwalks were paraded by very loose pants, mainly in fine, delicate, and light fabrics. However, in the Alberta Ferretti fashion show, bright orange was one of the predominant colors.
2. Hip Pants
While waist pants cling to the podium of trends, hip pants have not lost the battle and are planning a comeback. Hip pants made a comeback in last year’s spring-summer season, and most thought they would only last for that period, but no. They are back and will be around for at least one more season.
This type of pants arouses both love and hate since, for many, when it comes to women pants, the lengthened waist helps to contour the female silhouette better. They come in different styles, such as jeans, dress pants, or corduroy; there are many modalities.
In Brandon Maxwell’s fashion show, we could see hip-length tailored trousers with a wide silhouette. Coperni also closed his show with cargo-style trousers at the hip, which brings us to our next model: The Cargo.
3. Cargo Pants
A style that has marked the end of the 90s and the beginning of the 2000s; and that today is back after being a success in the 2022 seasons.
Cargo pants have been evolving and have become more sophisticated. For example, Givenchy and Dior based their designs on reasonably simple cargo trousers design with classic colors such as white and military green.
However, other designers, such as Fendi, dared to experiment a little more, creating cargo pants in satin and extra-large pockets.
4. Flared Pants
A classic that, thank goodness, always comes back. Renewed, modernized, and with modifications, but flared pants, after all.
This season brings us tailored flared pants, by Adam Lippes and Del Core, with a classic design and basic tones, such as black and white. There were also more “revealing” strategies in black leather.
5. Tailored Pants
The typical office style that lasts over time and that today is the “street style”. Tailored pants made a strong impact and took skirts and jeans out of the scene. This season they will be seen in all colors, fabrics, and models.
Bottega Veneta designed a fundamental and classic model, in black and with a straight silhouette with hip length, while brighter colors like turquoise inspired Botter.
6. Cut-out Pants
This type of pants is still with us this season. The design presented by Burberry is fitted, with style similar to “denim” (you could say), and has cuts on the thighs. On the other hand, Dion Lee presented a model with front cuts at the waist and a flared style.
